Dallas Maternity Photographer

I love when a session location holds extra special meaning.  White Rock Lake has so many beautiful and fun spots for photos, but when you choose to document your growing family in the same spot where you decided to spend your life together, well it just wraps it all up and makes the evening feel really magical.  

The Texas heat is no joke, add a growing baby, and it can be almost unbearable. However, this glowing mama-to-be fully embraced the humidity and looked incredible doing it. These two were such troopers and honestly just the sweetest, most sincere couple. It’s so heartwarming to watch a couple be truly present with one another and come into their own as parents. 

I find that often mothers will opt out of a maternity session to focus all their attention on a newborn session, and honestly I get it.  It can be challenging to feel good in your own skin when your body is changing so much and you may even feel very uncomfortable.  But I can say from experience, after 3 pregnancies, I wish I had more photos of myself as my babies grew inside me.  There is such beauty to this period of time that is difficult to see in the moment, yet from the outside is so easy to see. I wish more women would allow themselves to cherish this special time for what it is and capture the beauty in it, despite any challenges that arise. Because once it’s done, it’s done. And you will look back on it as one of the most amazing things you have ever done.
